Home About MPS About The Campaign For Physicians Resources Newsroom
Why Troy Counts:
I can always do whatever I set my mind to. Dogged determination.
Favorite Hobbies:
I love raising cows, growing watermelons, riding motorcycles, and Native American sweat lodges.
Proudest Accomplishment:
I built my home, a small two story from the ground up, with my own two hands and my own design from my ideas.
MPS Heroes:
My grandma raised me since I was 4 years old. She was the best doctor I have ever met. She is an older country lady whose common sense and old remedies helped keep me healthy and strong. Best doctor I have ever met!
Words of Wisdom:
Try to make a place, a situation or occurrence better than when you found it.
Personal Diagnosis Experience:
Actually my sister and I both have MPS I. Around 5 years old they noticed differences in our joints. We were taken to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. They diagnosed it around 1972. Back then very little was known about MPS. I am grateful to the Scottish Rite and Masons who treated me and my sister at no charge. They still provide treatment and equipment to kids with MPS and other problems.
