Matthew always has a smile on his face. His positive attitude is infectious and teaches others that you can endure any problem if you just keep your head up.
Favorite Hobbies:
Anything involving music. Matthew loves to sing, dance and play instruments. He knows practically every song and dance from his favorite television show, Blue’s Clues.
Proudest Accomplishment:
Learning to walk with a walker. To this day, he gets excited to get out of his wheelchair and explore.
MPS Heroes:
Dr. Joyce Fox, Geneticist at Schneider Children’s Hospital – for recognizing Matthew’s MPS disorder after it had gone undiagnosed for 3 years.
Dr. Emil Kakkis, Researcher who discovered enzyme replacement therapy for MPS I – for helping Matthew’s family understand the disease and working so hard to find a cure.
