the Three! " He only enjoys watching videos and DVDs now. He really likes Barney and Blues Clues and Little Bear. He also likes for you to read books to him.

Proudest Accomplishment:
I think Andrew's proudest accomplishment was being named the guest of honor by representing "Give Kids the World" at the Kentucky Speedway. He met Darrell Waltrip . He also traveled to Toronto to be part of the clinical trials for Glucosimine. Andrew has had three fundraisers in three years of diagnosis raising a total of $22,000 to help find a cure.

MPS Heroes:
I think Dr. Newmeyer at Cincinnati Children's. She was aware to look for lysosomol storage disorders. She also helped us by giving us resources to help with care of a terminally ill child. She still emails to ask how he is doing. Also his pediatrician Dr. Dorsch who shows the concern and gives us the respect to listen and help Andrew with whatever he is able to do.

Words of Wisdom:
Enjoy and appreciate life, what we have as MPS families is precious. Andrew has taught us how to appreciate life and live for the moments.

Personal Diagnosis Experience:
The path is a difficult one. Andrew developed normally until the age of three. We started to notice that his speech didn't seem to be appropriate. We sent him to preschool and he did horrible on the registration testing. We then took him to the pediatrician, who labeled him as a slow learner. We were then referred to Cincinnati Children's . After three months of testing we got the diagnosis on September 17,2002. All the dreams and hopes that you as a parent had were suddenly taken away. That is unfortunately, a day in which we will never forget.
